Ashley B. Williams, Ph.D. is a molecular biologist and scientific editor with two decades of experience in academic research and over nine years of experience supporting researchers in producing clear, precise, and publication-ready writing. He is the founder of Veriplicity Editing, a service dedicated to helping scientists communicate complex ideas with clarity, logic, and impact. Dr. Williams earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Genetics from Indiana University, where he studied DNA damage, mutagenesis, and genome stability. He completed postdoctoral training at Harvard University and the University of Southern California, expanding his work on molecular mechanisms of genetic regulation. He later served as a senior scientist at the University of Cologne’s Center of Excellence in Cellular Stress Responses in Aging-associated Diseases (CECAD), where he helped led a research team investigating DNA repair, proteostasis, and host-pathogen interactions.
While continuing his research, Dr. Williams began editing manuscripts and proposals for colleagues and collaborators—developing a reputation for thoughtful, scientifically grounded editing that improves both clarity and argumentation. Since 2015, he has edited peer-reviewed manuscripts, dissertations, SBIR proposals, and technical reports across a wide range of fields. His clients include academic researchers, clinical scientists, and biotech startups. Every project is completed by Dr. Williams personally, ensuring consistent quality, deep scientific understanding, and alignment with reviewer expectations. He is especially committed to supporting early-career researchers and non-native English speakers in communicating their work with confidence and precision. Based in Austin, Texas, he works with clients across North America, Europe, and Asia.
